Solana RPC Providers Compared for Production Apps
Compare Helius, QuickNode, Chainstack, and Alchemy for Solana RPC access, history, streaming, and application requirements.
In brief
Solana RPC providers supply HTTP endpoints for requests and usually WebSocket endpoints for subscriptions. Helius focuses on Solana, while QuickNode, Chainstack, and Alchemy serve Solana as part of broader infrastructure offerings. Choose by testing your exact methods, history needs, traffic, regions, and fallback plan; generic speed claims do not tell you how a provider will perform for your application.
What we compared
- Support for the required Solana cluster, HTTP methods, and WebSocket subscriptions
- Historical range, transaction delivery, and specialized data or streaming APIs
- Request limits, response-size limits, key controls, and pricing model
- Measured latency, freshness, error rates, and failover behavior for your workload
The tools
Helius
Best for: Solana-focused RPC and specialized Solana data services
Helius documents Solana RPC along with services for enriched transaction data, streaming, and webhooks. Check the exact methods, history, limits, and APIs required by your application.
View provider detailsQuickNode
Best for: Solana RPC as part of a multi-chain infrastructure setup
QuickNode offers Solana endpoints and chain-specific node configurations with HTTP and WebSocket access. Verify the methods, archival behavior, response limits, and plan terms needed by your application.
View provider detailsChainstack
Best for: Shared or dedicated Solana node options
Chainstack offers Solana node services and documents HTTP and WebSocket RPC. Its current Solana service options, method support, and billing should be checked against the workload you plan to run.

Best for: Solana access in an application already using Alchemy APIs
Alchemy documents a Solana Chain API alongside its other supported networks and data products. Check its feature-support matrix for the exact Solana methods and companion APIs you need.

Match provider capacity to the application
We reviewed public provider documentation and Solana’s RPC directory on October 25, 2026. We did not benchmark provider response times, transaction landing, or uptime. Solana’s RPC provider guide recommends measuring representative workloads and comparing history, limits, transaction delivery, regions, reliability, portability, and cost.
An RPC provider gives an application an HTTP endpoint and usually a WebSocket endpoint for reading chain state, submitting signed transactions, and subscribing to updates. Public cluster endpoints can help with development and tests, but shared limits may not suit a production app. Start by listing the methods, history range, peak request load, and regions your service needs.
Helius: Solana-specific infrastructure and data
Helius documents Solana RPC along with products for enriched transaction information, data streams, webhooks, and other Solana workflows. This makes it a provider to evaluate when the application needs more than the standard RPC interface.
Check the documentation for each API separately. Parsed transaction data, historical lookups, and streaming services can have different method support, access rules, and billing from standard RPC requests. If you use provider-specific APIs, keep them behind a clear application interface so that you can change or add providers later.
QuickNode: Solana endpoints in a multi-chain platform
QuickNode offers Solana RPC endpoints alongside infrastructure for other supported networks. Check the Solana method references, archive range, request and response limits, WebSocket constraints, and plan terms against your application requirements.
Chainstack: shared and dedicated node choices
Chainstack offers Solana node access and documents HTTP and WebSocket methods. Its service plans and node options should be checked against expected load, history, and operational requirements.
Compare the provider’s current options for your target cluster and methods. If you are considering dedicated infrastructure, include provisioning, scaling, maintenance, monitoring, and fallback costs in the comparison rather than looking only at endpoint pricing.
Alchemy: Solana within a broader API stack
Alchemy documents Solana RPC as part of a broader API platform. Its chain API overview distinguishes standard chain access from data APIs and companion features; its feature-support matrix can help verify individual methods.
Alchemy may be convenient if your application already uses its other APIs. Still, confirm each required Solana method and the data or stream product separately. A provider supporting the chain does not imply support for every method, history range, or API in your workflow.
How to compare providers fairly
- Use the same requests. Test the exact HTTP methods, WebSocket subscriptions, response sizes, and history range against each provider.
- Measure more than latency. Track errors, timeouts, returned slot freshness, transaction confirmation visibility, and WebSocket reconnect behavior at normal and peak load.
- Separate standard RPC from enriched data. Decide whether your app can use portable Solana methods or depends on provider-specific parsing, indexing, webhooks, or streams.
- Check limits and pricing. Compare method-weighted costs, rate limits, bandwidth, archive access, concurrent connections, and plan restrictions with realistic traffic.
- Design for provider failure. Add health checks and a tested fallback for critical paths. A second endpoint from the same operator may not protect against an operator-wide issue.
Avoid relying on one generic benchmark: method mix, response size, region, and load can change the result. The Solana RPC provider directory is a useful starting point for finding current options, while the official provider selection guide explains what to measure.
